Our physical therapy department has a staff trained to treat:
- Orthopedic and musculoskeletal injuries.
- Joint and soft tissue injuries.
- Neurologic conditions.
- Connective tissue conditions.
- Wound care patients.
- Amputation patients.
- Arthritic conditions.
- Cardiac and circulatory conditions.
- Workplace injuries.
- Sports injuries.
- Joint replacements.
We serve inpatients and outpatients of all ages.
Physical therapists and physical therapy assistants work as part
of an interdisciplinary team to prevent and treat injury, educate
patients and their families, and prepare them for the highest
quality of life.
Our physical therapy treatment facilities are housed in the new
section of Val Verde Regional Medical Center. We have a large
gym area with treadmills, bikes, a stair stepper, ski
machine, weights, mats, a hydrotherapy room and private treatment
rooms.
Our physical therapy staff is licensed by the state of Texas and dedicated to providing our community with the highest level of rehabilitation services.
We are able to care for our patients throughout the entire continuum of care—from inpatient, to outpatient, or to home.
Hours and appointments
We are available for scheduled appointments from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday. Saturday and Sunday appointments are available for wound care.

- Step 1: Examination
To initiate a physical therapy program, a physical therapist must first examine the patient. This includes gathering history and selecting and administering specific tests and measures to obtain data. - Step 2: Plan of care
The physical therapist will work with the patient, doctors, family and caregivers to determine goals. These goals will determine the specific types of interventions the team will use to achieve the desired outcome. - Step 3: Intervention
There are several ways to achieve your physical therapy goals. Exercise, strength training, balance training, manual therapy techniques, postural retraining, wound care and education are just a few of those ways.
